They are far superior to the foreign ones but they expensive. Ace was a quality USA manufacture of electrical rebuilding parts back in the day. Delco Remy part #1100531. New brushes, bushing, bearing and hardware were used.
The field coils are good quality used Ace. Exterior primed and finish painted semi gloss black. Interior painted with moisture resistant varnish. The field coils have been cleaned, checked for continuity, and sprayed down with insulating varnish as well.
When I get good original Decor units in off my parts tractors, rebuild them and offer to the tractor community. I buy sell and part out tractors along with rebuilding. Original Delco armature checked for shorts and grounds, commentator end trued up polished, coated with ignition tint to prevent rusting from moisture build over time.
